Privacy Policy

Your privacy is one of our most important design principles.

Local Processing Commitment

The SweepPix desktop application does not upload or store your photos or personal information. All image processing happens locally on your computer.

1. What We Do Not Collect

SweepPix is a desktop application that runs locally. The application does not do the following:

  • Upload your photos — Your photo files are never sent to a server for analysis
  • Collect personal information — The application does not require registration or sign-in and does not collect your name, email address, or device information
  • Upload scan results — Scan results, hashes, and file lists remain in local memory
  • Use in-app tracking code — The desktop application does not include third-party analytics SDKs
  • Use in-app tracking cookies — The application does not use cookies or local-storage tracking technologies
  • Show advertisements — The application does not include advertising components or advertising-network SDKs

2. Data Processed Locally

To provide photo cleanup features, SweepPix reads and processes the following data on your computer. This data is held in memory only while the application is running and is cleared when the application closes.

Data TypePurposeStorage LocationRetention
File pathsScan image files in the folders you chooseMemoryCleared when the application closes
Image pixel dataCalculate perceptual hashes and detect blurMemoryCleared after processing
Perceptual hashesCompare duplicate and similar photosMemoryCleared when the application closes
File metadataRead file size, modified date, and resolutionMemoryCleared when the application closes

This data exists only in runtime memory. It is not written to disk or sent over the network, and it is released when the application closes.

3. File Access Permissions

SweepPix needs the following file-system permissions to provide its features:

  • Read access — Scan image files in the folders and subfolders you choose
  • Recycle Bin access — Move the photo files you select to the Recycle Bin

Scope of Access

SweepPix accesses only the folders you choose. It does not automatically scan other locations on your system or access folders you have not selected.

Deletion Safeguards

  • Before each deletion, SweepPix displays a confirmation dialog with the number of files and the disk space to be freed
  • You must manually confirm the action before any photos are moved to the Recycle Bin
  • Deletion actions are never performed silently or automatically

4. Network Connections

SweepPix's core features do not require an internet connection. Scanning, analysis, and photo cleanup work offline.

When a Network Connection May Be Used

  • Update checks — If you enable automatic updates, the application may connect to the official server to check for a new version. This process sends only version information, not personal data.

If you do not want the application to connect to the network, you can block SweepPix in your system firewall without affecting its core features.

5. Third-Party Open-Source Components

SweepPix uses the following open-source components. They run locally and do not upload your data:

ComponentPurposePrivacy Impact
ElectronApplication frameworkNo data collection
sharp (libvips)Image processingLocal processing only
ReactUser-interface renderingRuns locally

For the complete open-source license list, see the licenses.txt file in the application installation directory.

6. Children's Privacy

SweepPix is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect age information. Because the application does not collect user data, this policy does not have a special impact on children.

7. Data Deletion and Uninstallation

SweepPix does not retain persistent user data. When you uninstall the application:

  • The application installation directory and program files are removed
  • SweepPix-related registry entries are removed
  • Because the application does not store user data on disk, no additional data cleanup is required

Photos you choose to delete are moved to the Windows Recycle Bin. You can restore them from there until Windows permanently removes them or the Recycle Bin is emptied.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, we will provide a prominent notice in the application and on the official website. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance.

The policy change history is available at the bottom of this page.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions or suggestions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us:
